The NTT Innovation Institute Inc. (NTT i3) is an innovation arm of the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Group, the biggest telecommunications company in the world, having 80% of the Fortune Global 100 as customers, more than 220,000 employees in 72 countries and about $130 B in total revenues.
NTT i3 was tasked to create a new commercial “cloud of clouds” branded NTT Clouds that leverages both the individual and combined strengths of its family of disparate private and public cloud environments with a powerful common services portal. The service portal would allow customers to move and manage applications to and between cloud environments.
NTT i3 built a brand new services portal that includes three products: Plan, Migrate, and Develop. At the core of Migrate is CliQr’s CloudCenter platform which enables NTT I3 customers to rapidly on-board both new and existing applications and determine best execution venues across its family of private and public clouds.
Being powered by CliQr, application workloads within NTT Clouds, using Migrate can be portably moved across each of NTT’s cloud constituents with no additional migration effort. This allows NTT customers to seamlessly optimize workload placement based on use case criteria.

CollabNet TeamForge enables modern and governed Agile processes by providing an integrated platform to manage and automate a collaborative software delivery lifecycle—from idea to deployment.
CollabNet’s clients wanted the ability to deploy TeamForge on a variety of public and private clouds. Addressing this need without having to go through the expensive learning curve for each potential cloud was an expensive proposition for CollabNet, who simply wanted to augment their product with cloud options. For CollabNet, they wanted to make the move to the cloud without altering their application, not get locked into any one cloud and have all the management features required to manage commercial users on the cloud.
CollabNet modeled TeamForge in multiple configurations using the CliQr platform so that customers could securely deploy and manage application builds onto any private or public cloud without complex cloud-specific scripting. The result enables enterprises to select one cloud/configuration pair for dev/test and another for production while allowing data to easily be moved between the two.
Now, TeamForge customers, with the ability to very quickly deploy dev/test or production workloads on any cloud, flexibility they didn’t have before. That translates into lower cost of ownership and increased quality now that their software is cloud-enabled.

Powerful command line access allowed seamless parallelization of workloads without impacting user experience.
Simulations, which had previously taken days to run, were parallelized and elastically scaled on the cloud allowing them to be completed in hours. Pratt & Miller benchmarked multiple clouds to determine trade-offs between price and performance between different clouds and choose the best execution engine for running their compute-intensive simulations.

Founded in 1949, Weidlinger became a leading U.S. structural engineering firm with a focus on solutions to model and simulate physical elements in building and transportation design, applied science research, and physical security.
PZFlex, one of the Weidlinger software packages, required expensive desktop hardware and a dongle-based licensing system to realize the full value of the solution. This slowed market adoption and limited return on investment.
